What should I bring to the lesson?
We’ll provide everything: the board, wing/sail, wetsuit and lifejacket. All you need to bring is your swimwear, sun cream, a towel and plenty of enthusiasm for having fun!
I’ve never been on a surfboard before – can I do it?
Absolutely. Our taster lessons at Lake Iseo are designed specifically for complete beginners. Thanks to our teaching method and the use of a support dinghy, you’ll learn in complete safety and make rapid progress.
At what age can you start?
You can start windsurfing as early as 8–10 years old with the right equipment. Wingfoiling requires a little more strength and coordination, and is recommended for those aged 14 and over. There is no upper age limit, however: we have learners of all ages who are learning and having fun on Lake Iseo.
How long does the lesson actually last?
Each windsurfing or wingfoil session lasts 2 hours. This time covers everything you need to become independent: setting up the equipment (essential for learning to do it yourself), theory on land to understand the wind, practice on the water, and a final debrief to correct any mistakes.
How many people are there in each class?
Our groups are deliberately kept small: a maximum of four students per instructor. No confusion, no waiting around. Every student receives direct attention and personalised feedback to help them progress as quickly as possible.
What happens if there’s no wind?
The safety and quality of the lesson are our top priority. If the instructor considers that conditions are unsuitable, the lesson will be postponed and rescheduled for the next available date at no extra cost.
What is Foil Drive and how does it work?
The Foil Drive is an electric propulsion system that is fitted underneath the foil board. Essentially, a small motor helps you get up on the water even in light winds or with small waves — conditions typical of Lake Iseo. It’s the ideal solution for anyone who wants to learn to foil more quickly or for those who want to enjoy a session even on less windy days. We’re one of the few centres on the lake to offer this.
I’ve bought a package but I won’t be able to finish the lessons this year. Will I lose my money?
No! We know that commitments can change. If you haven’t finished your lessons by the end of the season, we’ll issue you with a personalised voucher for the remaining hours, which you can use throughout the following season.
Can I cancel a lesson I’ve already booked?
Of course, but we ask that you give us at least 24 hours’ notice. This allows us to reorganise the sessions and give other students the chance to get out on the water. In the event of a late cancellation, the lesson will be deducted from your package.
Do I have to pay for a membership card?
No. Unlike many other centres, we have no hidden costs or compulsory membership fees. The price you see in the price list is the final price you’ll pay.
Is the VDWS licence recognised abroad?
Yes, the VDWS licence is an international certification valid worldwide. It will allow you to hire equipment at any certified water sports centre — from Greece to the Canary Islands, from Sardinia to the Netherlands — by demonstrating your level of competence.
